WHAT IS SBNG -

Shoot a Ball Not a Gun anti gun crime campaign (SBNG Campaign) was founded in 2005 to help combat against the rise in youth related crimes such as gun and knife crime.

In 2006 BBSports/Entertainment founders of the SBNG Campain put on there very first event, the "Shoot a Ball Not a Gun" all star weekend.

The weekend consisted of an elite basketball tournament featuring the top 48 basketball players in the UK taking part. The idea of the tournament was to help give our youth a platform in which to showcase their skills and help create positive role models our youth can espire to become.

Along with basketball, performances and dancers the event heard talks from Operation Trident on the effects of gun and knife crime in our local communities, the event has now become an annual summer event which house 3,500 spectators throught our event weekends.

The SBNG campaign is a campaign which has been designed to target youths between the ages of 11-25 to help educate them on the effects of youth related crimes on our local families and communities.

SBNG - IN THE COMMUNITY

SBNG IN THE COMMUNTIY
SBNG in the community consists of giving back to the community, giving chances to all youths no matter of their colour, religon or social class.
This is done by providing free coaching and events during the summer for youths within the local communtiy.

Events include our shoot a ball not a gun summer league, our street games basketall and football tournament and our talent nights.

Sport is believed to be the most powerful instrument we have got to combat crime as it is a very good outlet and activity that can help us get messages across to our younger generations that we wouldn't normally have the chance to interact with in such a way.

port is the one THING where it does’t matter of your background, social class or ethnic minority but on your ability. Sport helps give its participants a sense of belonging and self-esteem where it is lacking. Through sport people from all social classes, religions and ethnic minorities come together as one and unite as teams to work together and helping each other achieve there proposed target (e.g. scoring a goal, winning the game). This is why we believe that sport is the best instrument to teach our younger generation about working together as a sports team and when the games are finished as a community?
