SBNG MEETS TYSON BECKFORD - YOUTH WEEK
As part of the forth coming Princes Trust "Youth Week" SBNG had the opportunity to meet american male model Tyson Beckford.
Youth Week highlights the positive difference young people make in society.
The national campaign follows a report by The Prince's Trust that 60 per cent of press coverage on young people is negative. It also coincides with recent concern around teenage crime.
The week aims to change the public’s negative perceptions of young people. It also focuses on young people’s wellbeing, encouraging them to seek support from organisations like The Prince’s Trust. Youth Week will bring together youth organisations, corporate supporters, media partners, celebrity ambassadors and young people.
Young people will shadow their MP in their constituency for the day, sharing personal stories and experiences. The Prince’s Trust will also launch its Young Ambassadors scheme to spread a positive message about Britain’s youth.
SBNG was lucky enough to meet up with Mr Beckford at a secret location to talk about the effects of gun and knife within the UK and this experiences of youth gangs and gun crime within the United States.
Mr Beckford went on to tell us about the different gangs that are in the US such as the Cypts and Bloods and the Jamacan gangs. My Beckford was lucky enough to get away from the temptation of continuing a gang members life and after finding modeling he has travel all around the world and has been able to make a great career from this.
Tyson Beckford's life story actually shows that if you do put your all into something there is no telling where it can take you.
